Not to defend the blood doctrine in any way, because it's indefensible, but it sounds like the hospital really dropped the ball on this one.

Who was the best batman?
by FL_Panthers init seems that batman has been portrayed by more actors than any other superhero.. who do you think has played the best in the role of bruce wayne/batman?.

Christian Bale was the best IMO.
Don't you think Clooney was good at the role of playboy Bruce Wayne.
Maybe, but the movie was so bad no one could save it.

San Francisco Giants vs. Kansas City Royals - World Series Winners ?
by flipper inonce again for the 3rd time in 5 years my favorite baseball team the s.f.
giants are headed to the world series !
so who do you think will win this years series and your reasons for your predictions ?

I'm pulling for the Royals, just because I enjoy seeing a small market team with a low payroll upset the balance of things. I'm also rooting for Ned Yost. I wish the Brewers had never gotten rid of him.
But either way, at least I don't have to suffer through the Cardinals winning another series.

Scared of Armageddon?
by naja inin the light of the following promises made by jehovah, how can there be an armageddon?.
genesis 8:21: ... so jehovah said in his heart: never again will i cursethe groundon mans account, for the inclination of the heart of man is bad from his youth up;and never again will i strike down every living thing as i have done.. genesis 9:15, 16: and i will certainly remember my covenant that i made between me and you and every living creature of every kind;and never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all flesh.and the rainbow will occur in the cloud, and i will certainly see it and remember the everlasting covenant between god and every living creature of every kindon the earth.. does it make sense to say "i will never kill you by a flood, next time i will use fire?
just asking.. .

A better question would be- Why not just vaporize the ones he wants to get rid of? Why, when he's ridding the earth of wicked people, does he feel the need to leave a giant mess behind for the survivors to clean up?
Welcome to the forum, btw.

The ignorance of the "sheep"...and will door to door work phaze out due to being "challenged" too much at the door?
by integ inhello friends.. i notice alot of talk about the future and what it would take to bring the whole thing down and no one seems to think it can or will happen any time soon.
just seeing people here talk about what will happen once 2034 comes and goes is very discouraging.. i'm amazed this religion continues to move along as it does.
building, growing etc.

I don't think them being challenged at the door is really an issue, because A- it so rarely happens; most householders are too indifferent to bother, and B- those aren't the people they are looking to indoctrinate anyway. They go after those who are more ignorant of scripture than they are.
The real issue is that JWs are getting less and less skilled at converting even those people, because so many of them can't explain even the simplest of doctrines that are supposed to be universally held by JWs.

A question for my friends in the USA about cowboys.
by punkofnice inas a kid growing up in the uk we used to play 'cowboys and indians' and watch high chaparal and bonanza along with other cowboy films.
later, in the 70's kung fu would be shown with caine going through the 'old west'.
we even had a chocolate bar that was marketed with a 'cowboy' theme...milky bar.. as far as i know the 'wild west' as shown on tvdidn't actually exist.. are there people that believe it did?.

For a more accurate depiction of what the West was like post Civil war, I recommend shows like Deadwood, or Hell on Wheels, as opposed to John Wayne movies.

I once saw an elderly person driving a small car and using their turn signal. I thought that was kind of unusual.

The movie Outbreak starring Dustin Hoffman was very good IMO.
I highly recommend Contagion if you haven't watched it. It's not quite as entertaining as Outbreak, but more cerebral and realistic.
